It Started With a Christmas Gift
My wife got me a Victorinox GMT for Christmas a couple of years ago. I strapped it on, thought it looked great, and then made the mistake of Googling "what makes a GMT watch special." That was it. The rabbit hole opened up and I fell straight in.
Within weeks I was deep into WatchTok — the corner of TikTok where creators spend their time showing off movements, debating Swiss vs. Japanese, and making you feel completely justified spending money you probably shouldn't. I was hooked. Four months later I had bought twelve watches. My favorite is the Hamilton Khaki Field Power Reserve — an automatic with a beautiful exhibition caseback and a power reserve indicator that I check approximately forty times a day.
Why I Built This Site
Honestly? I wanted to buy more watches and needed a way to fund the habit. I genuinely love this stuff: finding underrated microbrands, learning about movements, figuring out why one watch at $200 is a steal and another at $200 is a rip-off. I love that you can spend $40 on a Casio F-91W and own something that's been on the wrists of presidents, CEOs, and Navy SEALs.
So that's the story. A guy who got a watch for Christmas, fell into WatchTok, bought too many watches, and built a website to fund the next one.
What You'll Find Here
The site is organized so you can find a watch however you think about it. Browse by dial color if you know the look you want. By complication if you need a specific function — GMT, chronograph, dive, moon phase, power reserve. By price range if budget is your starting point. And check the Guides section for deeper editorial pieces — the kind of writing where I actually tell you what I think instead of just listing specs.
I'm particularly into microbrands and the under $1,000 range where I think the best value in watchmaking lives right now. But the site covers everything from a $20 Casio up to serious luxury, because great watches exist at every price point and every budget deserves honest guidance.
Real Opinions
I say what I actually think. If a watch is overpriced for what you get, I'll tell you. If a microbrand beats a Swiss name at half the price, I'll say that too.
Genuinely Into This
This isn't a content farm. I'm a real person who bought twelve watches in four months and has the credit card statements to prove it.
Every Budget Matters
A $150 Seiko deserves the same respect as a $5,000 Hamilton. I cover the full range without making anyone feel like their budget is too small.
